Character evidence is information that attempts to portray the defendant in a positive or negative way. A common type of character evidence is testimony from a witness who knows the defendant and can attest to their typical behavior. Lawyers usually use character evidence to prove a defendant's motive.
We the People have a Right to Know according to the Supreme Court of the United States [SCOTUS], past Presidents (of both major political parties), Congress, and the United States Department of Justice.
