Prosecutor Misconduct No. 1720979757 - 1538352639

On the evening of 11/15/19 my son was in a postiton where he was forced to defend himself against someone who attempted to rob and assault him and a 2nd person who pulled a gun on him and fired at him. There is a video of the entire incident. Even though you can see from the video that these guys attempt to assault my son before he ever pulled his gun and the other guy with the gun pulled it and shot at my son before he returned fire. The prosecutors of Jackson Co charged my son with 2nd degree murder even though we have a version of the stand your ground law on the books. I later found out the aaggressors family worked for the courts and had another relative that was a judge in a nearby state. The prosecutor brought this charge even though the aggressors started all of it. Unfortunately his lawyer was no better. Unfortunately my son took a plea deal and was sentenced to 7 yrs because at this point we couldn't trust this criminal unjustice system to go to trial.
