Description: On November 29, 2022, Officer Matthew Carlin investigated a juvenile‐family crisis incident. Officer Carlin failed to fully investigate the allegations made by the victim. Additional information obtained in 2023 substantiated the victim's allegations and resulted in charges against the parents. Officer Carlin's neglect and failure of his duty to conduct a proper investigation at the time of the incident based on his knowledge and obedience to laws and regulations supports the sustained charges. Officer Carlin was suspended for 15 days.
