This complaint is based on a documented pattern of conduct that involved threats of litigation without a clearly stated good-faith factual or legal basis, materially false or misleading representations, selective omission and manipulation of relevant facts, and the use of anticipated legal expense as a means of intimidation and coercive leverage. The attorney made assertions contradicted by available records and, after being provided information correcting those assertions, continued to rely upon them or failed to issue an appropriate correction. The attorney also threatened legal action while declining to identify supporting evidence, a cognizable injury, or a legitimate basis for the threatened claims. This complaint does not ask the disciplinary authority to resolve the underlying civil dispute; it requests an investigation into whether the attorney’s conduct violated applicable professional duties concerning meritorious claims, truthfulness in statements to others, candor, honesty, and the prohibition against deceit or misrepresentation.
